When I was in elementary school a group of girls decided to make a club but not everyone was welcome in that club. A friend of mine was hurt because she was told she couldn't be a member of the club. I gathered girls from my grade and told them we should make our own club but that everyone is welcome to join. I walked up to the girls in the other club and told them they were more than welcome to join our new club that never says no to anyone. Last week my middle school math teacher told us to pick a partner for group work in class. My friend that I've known for over four years wanted to be my partner but we have a new girl to our school that only knows my friend that wanted to be my partner. I told my friend that since the new girl only felt comfortable with her that she should be the new girls partner so she doesn't feel left out. Those are two times I remember doing something nice or sticking up for others. I know I'm only eleven years old but there are plenty of times I've stood up for friends that were being treated badly by others. My mom always says treat people the way you want to be treated. Thank you for reading a few of my experiences. Angelina

Hi my name is Natalie Cooper and I am in sixth grade. I'd first of all like to say that you are extremely inspirational to me! So this is my story: I was in a wheelchair for a month and a half back in November to December of 2014 because I slipped on Ice and injured my back. I was admitted into Children's Hospital of Detroit and saw a whole different view of my life. I was acting like the world was over for me, but really, I was fortunate enough to even be able to walk again. And so here's where I decided to take action. I have decided to make 100's of blankets to bring in and give out to all the patients there, I will also say an inspirational speech about my journey though this, and how they can make it through and to just stay strong! I hope you liked my story!!

In math class this week my teacher told us to pick one partner to work on an assignment together. My friend I've known for at least 5 years wanted us to be partners like always. I noticed the new girl looked or felt left out. The new girl only knows my friend out of our math class so I told my friend she should ask the new girl to be her partner so she's not left out and that I would just ask another kid in our class. My mom always tells me to treat people how you want them to treat you and I like people being friendly and kind.

I have a huge love for photography, often times I go to the park to take photos. Once while I was in the park and young girl (about eight) came up to me and asked me about photography. I told her my favorite thing to photograph was nature and then she looked as though she was going to cry. When I asked what was wrong, she told me that her older brother used to love to photograph nature too and she liked talking to different photographers. I then asked why he stopped taking pictures and she explained that he had recently died of cancer. I immediately felt connected to this girl, not only through photography but also through going through cancer. I told her that my younger brother was currently in remission for cancer and I knew exactly what it felt like. She then surprised me by hugging me and saying, " Thank you. Everyone says they know what it feels like, but nobody really does. So thank you for really understanding." I felt like I had helped her by showing her that she wasn't alone and honestly, it helped me too.

Hi! First I would like to say, you are putting together a GREAT project by doing this and you are boosting so many teens confidence❤️ My story is, My bat mitzvah is coming up so I need to do 48 hours of community service. I choose to do it at the Friendship Circle. The friendship circle is a great place that has a nurturing environment for kids with dissiblitys and makes them feel like just a normal kid which, they really are just normal kids. I get paired up with a buddy with dissiblitys and hang out with them once a week. I'm not aloud to share my buddy's information but, I can say that she LOVES to preform, dance, sing, and act! I love the same things... so each week she would want to go into the dance room and I will make up a combination that we do over and over again and again. It makese feel vary good that I'm helping out the community. I did feel like I was just helping them out in the first few weeks but then I found out that I actully made a new friend. I realized that she really is just a normal kid that just thinks differently... She is one of my Best friends and It makes me So happy that she made a new friends and so did I. I hope you enjoyed my random act of enchantment even though it was a little long! Bye😘

Thank you so much for the wonderful opportunity to have a photoshoot with my friends! I had a lot of fun, and I can't wait to see the pictures! I enjoy doing nice things for others because when they are happy, I am happy. One Random Act of Enchantment that I did was collecting bottles and cans to raise money for a children's pediatric cancer charity. I asked my friends and family to help donate recyclables and many of them did! I went to the grocery store many times to return them all and each time received money back. All the money that got collected went to the charity. I am happy to know that I was able to help others who were in need of some ENCHANTING!

Hi, my name is Jane Hooberman and recently, I have been lucky enough to be able to enchant many people's days! Whether I am at school or at home, I always keep doing good things for others on my to-do list. At home, there are sometimes dishes in my sink that just sit there, not yet cleaned. So, one random act that I encountered was cleaning the extra dishes that would otherwise sit in the sink, without anyone telling me to do so! Also, my mom had brought up a couple of baskets of laundry and put them in the hallway. On my own, I decided to be the one to refold the clothing and put my clothes away! In school, a random act that I committed to was helping one of my teachers' stack all of the unstacked chairs in her classroom, without being told to. Another random act that I did recently, was helping out my good friend put food on her plate, since she has a cast on her arm and couldn't serve herself by herself. Lastly, for a recent project, my sister and I collected returnable cans and bottles to raise money for a children's cancer association. In conclusion, all of these random acts of enchantment has turned me into a better person each time, and has made me feel so proud of my accomplishments!

Story:

Hi my name is Jenna Silverman and this is my enchanting story. Sorry I think I entered two stories by accident that weren't finished. First of all I want to thank you so much for the photo shoot today that really boosted my self-esteem. It was a lot of fun experiencing this amazing opportunity and I think the best part was just being with all of my good friends. The photos so far have turned out very high quality and beautiful and we will cherish them forever. We will also be able to look back on this memory and remember it forever. So here is my random act of enchantment story. This one girl in my grade that has a disability and has some trouble socially almost always comes to my lunch table which is very full and asks if there is anywhere she can sit. Some people just sit there and kind of nod there heads but don't really say anything. Two of my friends and I always say you can of course pull a chair up and sit right there. This small comment makes her feel welcome and so good. She also says hi to me at lunch and I always say hi back and stop my conversation, return back to it after, and ask her how her lunch is. She sometimes even gives me positive comments like you rock Jenna and I always say you too! She even tells me I'm her best friend sometimes and I tell her that right back. She does this to a couple other of my friends too. She is our friend and we always make her feel welcome and good about herself. Other times she gives me a hug and I give her a hug back. I can tell she likes it when I do that. Another random act of enchantment I did was I wrote #you matter on little cards and gave them to some of my close friends with other words on it too. I thanked them for being such good friends randomly. I know if I got some of these cards which I did from some of my friends it makes me feel good. This is why I chose to do it to other people. I also made one card for all of my close friends so then I wouldn't miss anyone or make them feel left out because I did some cards to people individually. These are only a couple of many random enchantments I chose to do to make people happy. My final enchantment that I'd like to say is I always have a smile on my face and I love to make people laugh and be happy. My personality can cheer all of my friends up when they're down and I'm almost always laughing and whenever I laugh they do too. People always tell my parents and I that my smile lights up the room. That is one of the biggest compliments I could ever get. I am so lucky to have all the great friends I do which most of them participated in the photo shoot today. I would just like to share one quote that has a big impact on my life. "To the world you're one person, but to one person you're the world." I always think of this quote and my random acts of enchantment really relate to it. To the one girl in m grade how much I respect her could mean the world to her. I could brighten her whole day, world, or even her life. I always treat people they way I would want them to treat me. I love making new friends and creating more and more strong friendships and I never leave anyone out. Thanks so much again Marla this photo shoot today really made a big impact on me. Love, Jenna

When I was at school on Friday, a group of 8th graders were standing in the lobby waiting to go in or school. I'm a seventh grader and I usually don't stand up for anyone that's older than me but, this time I had to help. An with grade boy with disabilities was getting teased by the eight grade group of boys. They were pretending to be his friend and they were all laughing when the boy with disabilities smiled at them and played along with their act. I felt so bad for the boy because he didn't know what was going on. He thought they were his friends. I walked over, took my headphones out of my ears, and stood up for the boy. I told the eight graders and told them to leave him alone because everyone deserves to have good friends and they were definitely not good friends. They weren't even friends. That's my story of enchantment.

I always love to help out and randomly enchant everywhere! Whether it's at school, at home, at extracurricular activities, or even online. Here are some ways I have helped out my community! First let's start at school. My main focus is to make sure everyone feels included. At lunch, if my friends can't fit in at our table, I will move somewhere else with them. If someone needs to be in a group, I will encourage them to join us, and when we have free time I hang out with a variety of people, especially those who are alone. Also, when my friends need help with the subjects we are working on or understanding the homework, I am always there! Next is at home, I help my brother with his homework and help my cousins learn and critique their performances for them to improve. Third is extracurriculars. At my Hebrew school, I volunteer to lead a Zimriah youth choir every week, to prepare for our performance, and I love seeing the kids having so much fun with it. At my school's Jazz program, I volunteer to be the piano player, and take time out to improve their sound. At my Hebrew tutoring, I make sure to be especially attentive so my teacher is proud, and she said I was one of the bestest students she has had and set the record for fastest time learning my Haftarah! At my piano lessons, when I'm free, I sign up to perform so people get to hear the music they love. I participate in musicals not only because I like to, but because I love entertaining people and putting smiles on their faces. Lastly would be online. First of all, I love to comment on people I know's photoa on Instagram to make them feel good about themselves and because, well, all my friends are gorgeous!! Also the big part is today, there was a girl who I don't really know, but follow her on Instagram. She is going through a very tough time in her life, and receiving many death threats and is constantly crying because she is so hated, and she barely did anything. I decided to take action and send her a long note describing why she needs to stay strong, and how it wasn't her fault, so she can't let the people being her down. I hope she receives my message and will take my advice, because she seems like a lovely person! In conclusion, I love to randomly enchant and I hope my group wins a photo session with you because you are so inspiring and the spark of our random acts of enchantment!

Now, I had been in the same situation with one of the girls, so i really wanted to help because it was not fun being the victim. So i told her every thing i knew that she could do without being rude or mean back to them and soon enough they are friends again. Hi, my name is Mari Lynn and I'm in 7th grade. First off, thanks so much for the amazing photography session. I had so much fun with all of my friends and thanks for battling the cold weather for us. My first random act of enchantment was helping my mom. My mom taught CPR today and had to drive my brother to soccer, this left her with no time to put away her CPR dummies. So, I carried down her CPR dummies to the basement and put them away. Another time I helped enchant someone's day was when I made blankets with a couple of my friends for project night night. These blankets go to homeless children, making blankets for them made my day! During the summer, I help enchant little kids' days by volunteering at their preschool summer camp. I love going back every year and seeing the same kids and new ones too! Being an enchanted tween to me, is one of the best feelings in the world. When I make others happy, I know I'm going on the right path in life. Thanks for inspiring me!

I walk there and I felt so joyful because I make the right choice and even though switching a group in gym class might not be the biggest kind thing that I will accomplish in life it taught me to go the right way even if it's not my way. And that's a life lesson that I will always remember. Thanks for reading.

Hi, my name is Julia. In my gym class there aren't a lot of people. But there is always this boy who has nobody to play with. Sometimes when he is talking, everybody ignores him. In fact, today we were playing basketball, we were making free throws and he asked if he could try, the boys in my class said no. Then the boy said: "Why not? Is it because I suck?" then the boys started to laugh at him. I felt really bad for him, so from this day on, when we play a game in gym I'll be his partner, or ill pass the ball with him. Me and my friends also let him sit by us at lunch. I hope he understands that I care about him and I hope everybody will realize they should respect them too. I know this isn't the biggest nicest thing somebody has ever done, I just think its important. Who ever is reading this, I encourage you to randomly enchant somebody too, it makes you feel like such a better person!

There a a super nice girl at my school who is autistic. She is very sweet and funny, although sometimes she says things that aren't true or nice. One day after my A2 class some boys were saying "oh my gosh did you hear her? She was so lying and she wears the same clothes every day," I could tell that she overheard the boys, and I felt really bad. I wasn't sure if she was telling the truth about what she said in class, but I wouldn't want her to bs sad. I pulled her aside and I said "don't listen to them. They don't know what they are talking about. I belive you, and I think you are so nice and pretty!" (She totally is!) I could tell that she felt so much better!! I was super proud of myself and I was glad that she was happy. After saying that I became friends with her, we always talk in the hallways. I know she feels like she had a good friend in me. I think what you have started is amazing. I've been hit and made to feel left out in elementary school before just because I didn't root for the same baseball team as others in my class before. My story of enchanting someone is a few weeks ago my math teacher told us to pick partners for an assignment in class and a friend of mine that I've known for at least 4 years wanted to work with me. She is one of my closest friends in that class. We have a new student in our school and in my math class. I looked over at her and could tell she looked left out and sad. I told my friend that I think she should ask the new girl to be her partner since the new girl only knew my friend the most out of our class and felt most comfortable with her. I told my friend I'd be fine and would just ask whoever else was left without a partner. My mom always says treat others the way you want to be treated and I always do my best to always be nice.

Every school has a few mean kids and my school is no different. When I see those boys laughing at him because he is different that's where I draw the line. I go up to those boys and tell them to stop being mean and tell them to try being nice once in a while and they might feel better. Hi, Marla! First of all, I would like to thank you for the amazing thing you are doing for tweens. I have many little stories that I am going to squish into one. First of all, on the first day of school there was this new kid sitting next to me in choir. He came from China that August and nobody knew him. I decided to befriend him and we are still so close. I introduced him to all of my friends and now the whole grade loves him and he has so many friends. Next, there is this boy in my grade that was also new. He was on crutches and I saw him struggling to go downstairs to the gym. He obviously did not know about the handi-capped elevator, so I told him about it and even though I was scared because it was shaky and scary, I took him on it and now he takes the elevator and doesn't have to risk hurting himself down the stairs. Lastly, every other Friday I go with a group of girls to sit with the special needs kids in a separate room at lunch. They don't always come to the cafeteria, so I think it makes them happy to know that we skip our lunches to sit with them. In general, I am such good friends with the special needs kids and I love hanging out with them. We unfortunately do not have recess anymore, but last year I played with them everyday at recess. Once again, thank you for encouraging this positive message throught us tweens.

When I was younger, I used to be nervous and scared around special needs people. In fourth grade, I met some special needs kids. I was a little scared at first, but they turned out to be the nicest, funniest girls. I played with them every single day a recess and they were truly so happy to be around. I was invited by the teachers in A.R.P. to join a club called Circle of Friends. Even though we would sit with the special needs kids everyday in the cafeteria if we could, sometimes they aren't able to come to the cafeteria. Every other week, we skipped our normal lunch to sit with them. I am still in this club to this day, and I think it makes them feel happy and reminds them that they have friends that are there for them. Now, I am always so happy to play with them. They are always a joy to be around, and I love spending time with them.

I held onto her walker so when she came out of the stall she could grab onto it easily. I know this next thing sounds gross, but after she came out, I flushed the toilet for her since she couldn't bend down low enough. I felt really good because she said to me afterwards that I have a blessed soul and that she hopes I love a long and happy life. I thanked her for that. Also, not only did I do that, but a friend of mine is going through a tough time with her friends at school, so I direct message her frequently asking her how she's doing, and we always talk until either one of us falls asleep. My random act of kindness occurred when I helped a friend who was struggling in math. She was retaking an algebra 2 class and was struggling so one day after school I texted her and asked if she needed any tutoring. I took time out of my day that Saturday and went over to her house. We studied for a test that was coming up in her class. With my help she told me she did better on that algebra test and was on the road to passing the class. After hearing her say that I felt extremely happy knowing that I helped someone in need. It's nice to know that just little things like helping someone study for a test can bring peace and happiness for both the person receiving the help and the person giving it.

When I was in middle school I was involved in a program called LINK. It's where we join a special needs class and you get to help the kids. Or, you go to class with them and help them if they are struggling. While I participated in this program I became good friends with the kids I worked with. I saw them grow throughout the year getting better with their writing and communication (I helped with their English class). It was a very enchanting experience. To add to that, people in middle school think its so funny and cool to be rude to special needs kids and to push them around. I often saw this happen in the hallway and would step in to stop whatever was going on and I would walk with them the rest of the way to their class. By being in the LINK program I was able to make a change and it helped me to become a more enchanting person.

Story:

I went t the Friendship Circle over the summer to volunteer. Here's how a girl there helped me. I changed the names. Raina is the most patient person I know. Since her legs are paralyzed, she is unable to move herself most of the time and has to wait for others to push her. Once when we were traveling on the bus, she had to wait for someone to buckle her into the seat and once everyone gets off of the bus she has to wait for us all to get off and then wait for someone to lift her off the chair, buckle her into the chair, and wheel her into the building. One day we went to Pump it Up, a place which has a ton of bounce houses. She can't move her legs, so she can't play on the bounce houses with the slides and obstacles, she can only sit in the classic bounce house. She patiently waited there, kids occasionally coming in to provide her with some entertainment. Not only did she wait there, but she always had a smile on her face. She made everyone feel better when a kid was growing difficult. I remember when Jack started crying and thrashing around, the counselors were making sure all the kids stayed calm. Raina hadn't eaten her food yet and there were no people help her eat because they were calming down Jack. Raina did not complain. Or whine. She was waiting. She had to wait for everything. Through Raina's example, I learned to be more patient and to not complain. Raina has amazing perseverance. She has to persevere through so many simple problems. She does everything with a huge smile on her face and her smile is one of those smiles that literally light up the room. Raina is unable to go to the bathroom by herself and she has to rely on others. This may seem insignificant, but it's a hard problem to deal with because it's a lengthy process just to use the bathroom. Raina also cannot talk. She can make noises, but they usually aren't identifiable. Raina has to deal with people never quite being sure what she wants them to do and not understanding what her ideas are. I don't know what I would do without being able to express myself to words. One time, Raina had been talking, but her talking suddenly became quicker and soon turned into small yells, she had just wanted to go to the bathroom. Everyday Raina has to deal with small problems like these and she has amazing perseverance. Raina inspired me whether it was her incredible patience or her perseverance. Raina taught me to do everything with a smile on my face and be forever appreciative for being born with all my limbs working and being able to talk. I volunteered to help kids like Raina, but Raina ended up helping me much more than I could ever help her.

I want to say that what you are doing is amazing. I have made a promise to myself to always treat people with kindness and never make anyone to feel left out. Just last week my mom and I had to cut ties with friends we've had for 6-7 years. We were so close at one time but lately my two friends who are sisters kept calling me names while we would play. They kept telling me that I'm aneroxic and I don't eat because I'm too skinny and called me a tooth pick and a twig over and over again. My mom would tell me to forgive them because they are a year and two years younger than I am. They tried to blame me for something I didn't do and my mom talked to other people who were there and they all said I never said the hurtful things my actual friends accused me of. My mom tried talking to their mom but no matter what I did and she didn't care what the other witnesses said. My mom and I came to the decision that it was just time to walk away and not be friends anymore. The things my friends would say to me made me feel really bad about myself like something was wrong with me. My random acts of enchantment will be to always be kind and never hurt anyone's feelings. When I was at a Bar Mitzvah, I was playing basketball with my dad and I noticed a kid sitting and eating alone. I felt really awful that he was alone, so I went and asked if I could sit with him. He said I didn't have to, but it felt right to me, so I did. He was telling me that he was having a pretty hard time, and so I talked to him and told him that everything would be ok. We played one on one together and had a really good time!

One day at school me and my friends were sitting and eating lunch. We noticed that there was a little boy in third grade sitting and eating all alone. He looked very sad and even though we didn't know him and he was in third grade, we went and sat with him. He shared with us that he didn't have many friends so we came up with a solution. We invited one of the boys to sit with us and started up a conversation with them. They quickly became friends and the boy thanked us. I think it made his day!

My random act of enchantment that i was involved in was yesterday when i was at my grandmas house her next door neighbor who is a widow, invited me into her home to show me a piece of artwork my grandma had given her. Although the artwork was beautiful it was more special listening to her stories. She then began to walk me through her house telling me about all the other artwork she had in her home and the adventures her and her late husband took when buying these items. At first i kept looking at my watch thinking this is taking a very long time, but then i realized it wasn't about the time but it was about listening to someone's life stories who wanted to share her memories with me. When i left her home i said to myself the next time i see her again i will be excited to listen to her wonderful stories again because I'm sure she has a lot more to share.
